Box of Phil with Original Phil Lesh Signature

Get in the Phil Zone! If you're a Phil fan, this box was made especially for you! The Box of Phil, featuring Phil Lesh's original signature front-and-center, is a tribute to Phil Lesh, the talented bassist of the Grateful Dead and Furthur, and owner of the Terrapin Crossroads restaurant and venue in California.

This spacious jewelry box is in perfect condition and has been covered with pictures of Phil throughout the stages of his fifty-year musical career. This box covers the many faces of Phil, from a sharp-dressed Phil in a pageboy cap to cowboy Phil on horseback to Phil riding shotgun in a racecar. Even his bass instrument is honored with a detailed description of its intricate adornments. The signed wheel sticker on the front was a limited bonus gift that came with select first edition copies of Phil's biography, Searching for the Sound.

Lyrics from the song Box of Rain set the dreamy theme for the Box of Phil. "For this is all a dream we dreamed," is an interesting contrast to other quotes on the box, such as "Who could have cooked up something like this? None of us, in our wildest dreams," and, "it's been gratifying beyond my wildest dreams to play in this band."

There's plenty of room for a large jewelry collection (or maybe another sort of collection) with a lift-out tray and spacious lower compartment. [The jewelry in the picture is not included]. The bottom of the tray and the bottom of the box both feature additional photographs. (The intricate black-and-white collage on the bottom comes from the Grateful Dead Family Album by Jerilyn Lee Brandelius.)

The Box of Phil is a one-of-a-kind fascinating and functional conversation piece that any Deadhead would be proud to display. Dimensions: 12” L x 8” W x 4.75” H.
